In Seattle, Startup Drinks meets on the last Friday of the month, at a different bar each time. This month we’re heading to Buckley’s in Belltown, and have a very special treat: our friends at Seattle’s own GoTime.com and FOX Sports Grill are generously offering a gift pack which includes a $50 gift card to Fox Sports Grill to one lucky attendee (special thanks to FOX Sports Grill, please become a fan of them on GoTime.com)!

Two quick things:
1.) March Seattle Startup Drinks is this Friday on Capitol Hill! For more information, please checkout the event page and RSVP at either Facebook or Upcoming. You can also join our Facebook Group to automatically be alerted to events.
2.) We’d love to hear some location suggestions from members! I know that those dictating locations right now are biased towards the north end of Seattle, and I’d love to get some variety going on. If you know of a place that has room for a group on a Friday night and it’s too rowdy, please let us know! Your input is really helpful. (Big thanks to Kyle for this month’s location recommendation!)

This month, we’re doing something very special. Mike Thompson of SEOmoz is hosting a big Startup Drinks party at his home in Ballard: the drinks are free (Mike knows how to put the fun in fundraiser), we only request that you make a donation to Mike’s team for The Big Climb, a Seattle event to raise money for the fight against Leukemia and Lymphoma. The folks from SEOmoz are running/walking up and down 69 flights of stairs! We can help in the fight against blood cancers too, and all we have to do is drink! (You guys have it so easy!)

Usually we meet on the last Friday of the month for drinks, conversation, and Flickr fodder, but it’s come to our attention that the last Friday of this month is Halloween.
Not wanting to cause your painstakingly crafted Fake Fake Steve Jobs costume to go to waste, Startup Drinks is forgoing its usual Friday date and opting for a weekday gathering earlier that week: Monday or Tuesday. But witch, er, which? Well, that’s up to you. Please vote in our one question poll for October 27th or 28th. Heck, you can even pick both, if they’d both work for you. The joys of checkboxes. Just let us know by the 20th, when we’ll announce the date of the October Startup Drinks.

Our June get together was a lovely time with a great turn out - thanks to all who joined in, and special thanks to Paddy Coyne’s for accommodating our group and lending us their beautiful deck during a shockingly warm Seattle evening.
